'Onyx' by Jennifer L Armentrout book review

Goodreads link:  https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13047090-onyx?ac=1 My rating:   3/5 Still not exactly sure how I feel about this book series. Whereas this one is pretty different from Twilight and didn't give me those feels at all, unlike the first one,I must admit I still enjoyed it quite a bit,so the Twilight element being why I enjoyed the first one is out of the way. There were, however, quite a few things that I found a bit off.The first half or so of the book was a bit slow and (and I am sorry to admit that and use that word) dull, boring. The romance was still a bit off for me and I just found the entire transformation of the male character a bit rushed.I honestly didn't appreciate that love triangle forming early on and was close to wanting to give up on hope for this simply because of that, but, happily,JLA gave up on that pretty soon,so my hopes were back on.I also disliked the way some of the characters were ignored.I really wanted to see more Dee in ...

'The Disreputable history of Frankie Landau-Banks' by E. Lockhart book review

Goodreads page:   https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22907596-the-disreputable-history-of-frankie-landau-banks My rating: 5/5 Utterly brilliant. I actually went into it with pretty high expectations,I didn't intend to at first(since I basically knew nothing about it but what it was written on the back),but then after I heard E Lockhart talking about what the book is about and what made her write certain things (and also reading out an extract of it),I decided that I was expecting great things from it.Even so,I was still blown away. The story itself is pretty fantastic,I will say that, starting from a premise like that,it would be pretty hard to end up having something I don't like. There were so many brilliant things about this I don't even know where to begin. The setting E Lockhart created for the action to take place in was probably the first right choice of many.I think the idea of a private school with all the different buldings and facilities was a ...

September wrap-up

Hi? I am well aware of the fact that I have been off my creative-type media (aka here and youtube),but I think I have a good excuse for that.I moved. As in,to another country and everything, which obviously takes quite a bit of time and effort. However, since I have no idea when/where I can film around here since things are still sort of hectic,I thought I might as well do a written wrap-up here. That's it,let's talk about the books I read last month, shall we? 1."Quiet:The power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking"  by Susan Cain I know,I know,Gabby read a non fiction book for the first time in quite a while. Get over it. This is basically a psychology book,I'd say?If you don't know, there are technically two types of people (?),introverts(=those who find a more peaceful life by themselves, who appreciate time alone and usually find it hard to work with/interract with people) and extroverts(those really social, energetic type persons...

'The Maze Runner' by James Dashner series review

'The maze runner' is a trilogy written by James Dashner (as you can actually see up there, but I felt like repeating). The three books in the series are: The Maze Runner , The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure .This is a dystopian series, not one of my absolute favourites, but a pretty great one. First of all, let's discuss the plot a little bit.In the beginning of the first book we are introduced to Thomas, the main character, who has absolutely no memory except for the one of his name.He is sent through a box to an unknown camp-like place (referred to as "the Glad") situated in the middle of a gigantic maze. The entire group there is formed of several teenager boys, each having a specific role in the Glade's society, from cooking, cleaning or cutting animals,to what might be the most important group, the Runners. They have to explore the Maze whenever the stone walls move, forming a giant gate,so that they can look for an escape from the terrible maze and it...

'If I stay' by Gayle Forman

Goodreads page: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4374400-if-i-stay?ac=1 My Gooreads rating: 5/5 I am proud to say that I read this beautiful book in one sit alone yesterday. The book is really short,so it was quite an easy thing to do.I'd heard mixed things about the book, but the majority of them were good,so I really wanted to give it a try and see for myself what I think of it. I was surely expecting it to be good, maybe even incredible, because the premise of it sounded fantastic to me.However,my expectations were still overcome. There were so many elements that made the book come as a surprise to me,I was, once again, expecting them to be there, but the intensity of them surprised me.Basically,I had been crying for about 6 hours straight by the time I put the book down. For those who don't know, this is the story of a young girl named Mia,who gets into a car accident with her entire family. Her parents die on the spot and her brother passes later on,while she is in a ...
